Greeka.com, a leading travel services provider with over 25 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Backend NestJS Expert to join our development team. As a Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of our web applications, APIs, and server-side logic. This is a remote role, offering an exciting opportunity to work on a global platform with millions of visitors per year and be involved in high-impact travel industry projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Server-side Logic:
    Design and implement efficient server-side logic, ensuring robust functionality of the website and web applications.
  • API Development:
    Develop and integrate APIs (both internal and third-party) to improve backend performance and enable seamless integration with frontend systems.
  • Optimizing Backend Systems:
    Regularly optimize the backend infrastructure for performance and scalability.
  • Microservices Architecture:
    Implement and manage microservices to improve application performance and maintainability.
  • Collaboration with Frontend Team:
    Work closely with the frontend team to ensure seamless integration of frontend and backend systems.
  • Version Control:
    Use Git to manage and maintain code versions effectively.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Address any backend-related challenges and deliver efficient, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    At least 3 years of experience in Node.js and backend development with strong proficiency in Nest.js, Fastify, or similar web frameworks.
  • Travel Industry Knowledge:
    Prior experience working with travel industry services and APIs (preferably for car rentals, ferry bookings, or hotels) is highly desirable.
  • Microservices:
    Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with a microservices-based approach.
  • Message Queuing Protocols (AMQPs):
    Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Kafka, NATS, or similar message queueing tools.
  • Database Knowledge:
    Experience working with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar database technologies.
  • API Design & Development:
    Hands-on experience designing and developing REST or SOAP APIs.
  • Frontend Basics:
    Basic understanding of frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.js, Angular.js, or Next.js.
  • Version Control:
    Proficient in using Git and other version control tools.
  • Independence & Teamwork:
    Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
    Excellent problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
