ACE Money Transfer is seeking an AML Analyst to support the Compliance Lead in ensuring the company meets all regulatory requirements related to anti-money laundering (AML). The ideal candidate will help investigate complex transactions, perform enhanced due diligence, interact with customers, and provide guidance to other teams on compliance issues. This position is essential to maintaining the company’s adherence to relevant policies and safeguarding its services from potential money laundering activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling Queries: Respond to and resolve queries escalated through tickets, providing expert guidance to customer-facing teams.
- Transaction Processing: Review transactions for compliance and process payouts, holding transactions that don’t meet regulatory standards.
- Policy and Procedure Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the relevant policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding AML regulations.
- Sanction and PEP Screening: Assess alerts on sanctions and politically exposed persons (PEPs) and manage escalations through the second stage of investigation.
- Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): Conduct additional EDD measures, including verifying customers’ sources and proof of funds for transactions that breach thresholds.
- Investigation of Suspicious Activity: Investigate complex or unusual transactions and customer behaviors. Perform thorough EDD where necessary.
- Reporting Suspicious Activity: Immediately report any suspicious activities detected to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
- Compliance Projects: Work on special compliance projects as assigned by the team leader or Deputy Manager Compliance.
- Ongoing Training: Ensure completion of required AML/CTF and other relevant training courses.
- Miscellaneous Duties: Perform any other tasks or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience in AML, compliance, or financial services, particularly in an analytical or investigatory role.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), and relevant regulations.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to investigate and analyze unusual or suspicious activity.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in using office software and relevant compliance tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in AML or CTF (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in financial investigations, KYC processes, and due diligence.
