Software Motion (Suzhou) Engineering Services is seeking a Perception Fusion Engineer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing fusion algorithms that combine data from various sensors (such as cameras, LiDAR, radar) to create accurate, robust, and real-time solutions. Your work will directly contribute to the evolution of autonomous systems, empowering them with enhanced perception capabilities and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Algorithm Development & Implementation:
    • Develop, implement, and optimize sensor fusion algorithms for various sensor types including cameras, LiDAR, radar, and other related sensors to create more accurate perception models.
    • Work on multi-sensor data fusion to ensure efficient real-time fusion and object tracking using advanced algorithms.
  • Testing, Debugging, and Optimization:
    • Conduct in-depth testing, debugging, and optimization of sensor fusion systems to ensure they meet performance standards and real-world application requirements.
    • Use Kalman Filters (LKF, EKF, UKF), particle filters, and association algorithms for advanced data processing and sensor fusion.
  • Code Quality & Collaboration:
    • Engage in regular code reviews with peers to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to standards.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as hardware and software engineers, to ensure smooth integration of algorithms within product systems.
    • Practice pair programming and keep documentation up to date to foster transparency and high-quality processes.
  • Research and Innovation:
    • Continuously explore and research emerging technologies, algorithms, and systems to keep the fusion methods up-to-date and improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Contribute to the design and development of next-generation perception systems by pushing innovative concepts.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • Practical project experience in sensor fusion, algorithm development, or related fields is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong programming experience in C/C++, MATLAB, and Python for sensor fusion and algorithm development.
    • In-depth knowledge of statistics, Bayesian filters, Kalman Filters, and other filtering techniques is essential.
    • Experience with association algorithms, data analysis, and object tracking is required.
  • Other Competencies:
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to approach complex problems analytically.
    • Proactive in exploring and applying emerging technologies in the realm of sensor fusion and perception systems.
    • Strong team player with effective collaboration and communication skills.
