In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing engineering projects that improve operational performance in areas such as safety, quality, compliance, and productivity. This position gives you the chance to work in an environment where change, growth, and new opportunities are constant.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and execute engineering projects aimed at improving operations performance (safety, productivity, quality, compliance, etc.).
- Collaborate with senior management to define project scope, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Create detailed project work plans, define timelines, allocate resources effectively, and identify key milestones.
- Monitor and manage project costs, schedules, and resources, adjusting plans and priorities as needed to meet objectives.
Sustainability and Safety Management
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards and regulatory requirements such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001, and PMI QMS.
- Participate in sustainability initiatives, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Provide technical supervision and leadership during project implementation, including risk assessments and safety evaluations.
Documentation and Reporting
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including technical documents, project schedules, and reports for management and steering committees.
- Review technical drawings, blueprints, and designs, working with design consultants, engineers, and construction teams.
- Ensure proper filing, storage, and documentation of technical reports, in line with PMI’s internal processes and legal requirements.
- Prepare and update project reports on budgets, resource usage, and expenditure.
Project Implementation
- Oversee the technical and design supervision of the installation of new equipment, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Validate the integration of new equipment and handle the commissioning process.
- Coordinate the Computerized Systems/Equipment validation procedures and ensure all relevant documentation is prepared for asset registration in the company’s system.
Performance Evaluation and Financial Control
- Monitor and track project expenses to ensure they are within budget.
- Evaluate project outcomes against initial goals and plan for future improvements.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and financials to senior management.
Team Collaboration and Communication
- Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders across departments to ensure project alignment and resolve any challenges.
- Actively contribute to improving work organization and resource utilization.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Building Construction), Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in an industrial environment, preferably in engineering or project management roles. Prior project management experience is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Formal education or certification in Project Management (PMP) is a plus. Experience with asset management is also beneficial.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Safety Management: Experience with safety management protocols and working knowledge of health and safety regulations is a must.
- Language: Fluent in English (oral and written) with strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
