We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Network Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance, security, and reliability. Key Responsibilities
- Network Setup & Maintenance:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Perform regular updates, backups, and patches for network devices to maintain security and performance.
- Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance to ensure smooth operation for users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, escalating more complex problems to senior network administrators when necessary.
- Network Security:
- Assist in the implementation and enforcement of network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Support the network security infrastructure to safeguard against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, device configurations, and inventory records.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and documentation for network-related tasks.
- End-user Support:
- Provide technical assistance and support to end-users facing network-related issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Capacity Planning & Optimization:
- Participate in network capacity planning and suggest improvements to optimize overall network performance.
- Technology Research:
- Stay updated with the latest developments in networking technologies and best practices to ensure the organization’s infrastructure remains current and efficient.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in network administration or a similar role.
- Basic understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, HP) and tools for network monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with firewall configuration and network security principles.
- Certifications:
- Industry certifications such as CCNA or Network+ are a plus but not required.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
