We are looking for a Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for conducting routine medical laboratory tests and maintaining laboratory operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of laboratory procedures, and a commitment to following health and safety guidelines. The technician will also support daily laboratory activities and help ensure timely and accurate test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Laboratory Tests: Perform routine medical laboratory tests and experiments, such as blood tests, urine analysis, microbiological cultures, and chemical analyses.
- Sample Handling & Preparation: Prepare, label, and handle patient samples in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring accurate and reliable testing.
- Maintain Laboratory Equipment: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring that machines are calibrated correctly and functioning optimally.
- Data Entry & Documentation: Record test results accurately, enter data into laboratory systems, and prepare reports for physicians and medical staff.
- Ensure Safety Protocols: Follow laboratory safety procedures and guidelines to prevent contamination, injury, and ensure safe handling of chemicals and biological samples.
- Assist in Laboratory Operations: Support day-to-day lab operations, such as inventory management, maintaining clean workstations, and assisting other team members when needed.
Qualifications
- Educational Requirement: An Associate’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Additional certifications in laboratory technology will be a plus.
- Experience: Prior experience as a laboratory technician or in a clinical lab setting is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks with precision.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ability to follow established procedures and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and explaining procedures and results clearly.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment.
