As a Charge Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality patient care within our healthcare facility. You will oversee nursing staff, ensure effective patient care procedures are followed, and act as a key point of contact for patients and their families. The Charge Nurse will also manage the day-to-day responsibilities, helping to ensure smooth operations in the unit. This position requires someone who is skilled in clinical care and leadership with a focus on patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision: Oversee and guide nursing staff on patient care procedures, ensuring high standards of healthcare are consistently delivered.
- Patient Care: Coordinate and administer nursing care to patients, including administering medications, treatments, and therapies.
- Medical Staff Coordination: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and effective care plan for patients.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about healthcare issues, treatment plans, and post-care instructions.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting vital signs, treatments, medications, and progress.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance to junior nurses and support staff, ensuring proper implementation of patient care practices.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and other medical procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Nurse or in a similar leadership role.
- Nursing Knowledge: Strong knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures, with a good understanding of patient care techniques.
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or a Diploma in Nursing. Additional certifications or specializations in nursing (e.g., pediatric nursing, critical care) are a plus.
- Licensing: Valid and up-to-date nursing license.
- Leadership Skills: Strong organizational, leadership, and team-management capabilities.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and guide staff, patients, and their families.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, managing multiple tasks effectively.
