AAOL Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Junior Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks, particularly in Weldments, Sheet Metal, and furniture design. This is a remote, full-time role suitable for candidates who have at least 3 years of experience in engineering design using SolidWorks. The ideal candidate must be proficient in creating engineering models and drawings for a range of projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- SolidWorks Engineering Design: Create engineering models and detailed drawings for various designs using SolidWorks, specifically focusing on sheet metal and weldments.
- Modification of Existing Models: Modify pre-existing models as required by customer specifications.
- Customer Interaction: Collaborate with customers through phone, email, or occasional visits to gather project information, resolve technical difficulties, and provide design solutions.
- Documentation and Quoting: Work with suppliers to obtain quotes for parts, prepare documentation to support the sales process, and ensure proper testing standards are followed for new products.
- Project Support: Assist in creating engineering drawing packages and support the production of new designs, ensuring timely delivery of projects within tight deadlines.
- Collaboration with Teams: Liaise with external engineers, manufacturers, and design teams to complete design and production tasks efficiently.
- Design Templates: Use limited customer-provided information to create design templates for projects.
Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience with SolidWorks, specifically with SolidWorks 2020, 2021, 2022, or 2023.
- Software Requirements: You must possess your own SolidWorks License (preferably for the 2020-2023 versions) and have access to a personal computer that meets the software’s technical requirements.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of SolidWorks, especially with weldments and sheet metal designs.
- Ability to understand and interpret customer specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on meeting project deadlines.
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and external teams.
- Preferred: A background in furniture design would be highly beneficial but not mandatory.
