Cutting Edge Projects, UK, is looking for a Python & Web Scraping Engineer to join their dynamic team in Lahore. In this role, you will work primarily on web scraping projects, ensuring data accuracy, system efficiency, and the smooth execution of web development tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong back-end development, programming skills, and experience with web scraping techniques. Key Responsibilities

  • Back-End Web Development:
    Develop and maintain back-end systems to support web scraping projects, ensuring the stability, security, and functionality of web applications.
  • Web Scraping & Data Extraction:
    Work with various web scraping tools and libraries (such as Scrapy, Selenium) to extract relevant data from websites efficiently.
  • Data Processing & Cleaning:
    Process, clean, and organize scraped data to ensure its accuracy and usability. Implement data modeling techniques to structure data effectively.
  • Problem Solving & Optimization:
    Troubleshoot issues related to scraping, databases, and data processing. Work to optimize existing systems and improve performance.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork:
    Collaborate with team members to discuss challenges, share knowledge, and implement improvements on projects.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain clear documentation for scraping tasks, tools, and methodologies. Report progress and outcomes to project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Skills & Experience:
    • Strong experience in Back-End Web Development, Software Development, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
    • Proven proficiency in programming and databases.
    • Hands-on experience with web scraping tools such as Scrapy, Selenium, or BeautifulSoup.
    • Knowledge of data cleaning, data processing, data annotation, and data modeling techniques.
    • Ability to solve complex problems and think analytically.
    • Experience working independently as well as collaborating with a team of developers.

Preferred Skills

  • Framework Proficiency:
    Experience with the Django Framework and other web development frameworks.
  • Web Scraping Techniques:
    Experience implementing advanced scraping strategies to bypass protections or scrape data from challenging websites.
  • Database Knowledge:
    Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, data storage, and optimization techniques.
  • Version Control:
    Proficient with version control tools such as Git.
