As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll be collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, managing cloud infrastructure, and automating workflows to ensure smooth deployments and scalable environments. Responsibilities
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to understand business objectives and cloud deployment needs, offering technical insights and solutions.
- Infrastructure Management: Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Cloud Deployment: Work with local cloud service providers, including PTCL, Multi-Net, and others, to set up and manage infrastructure.
- OpenStack Technologies: Set up, configure, and manage OpenStack-based environments.
- Automation: Automate infrastructure setups and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and increase development productivity.
- Testing & Optimization: Conduct load testing, implement performance-optimized infrastructure, and monitor system reliability across environments.
- Production Support: Provide proactive support for production systems, ensuring uptime and troubleshooting issues when needed.
- Cost Optimization: Implement cost-effective strategies and ensure optimized resource utilization for infrastructure.
- Performance & Scalability: Optimize applications and systems for performance and scalability, ensuring smooth growth of the business.
- Technical Debugging: Take ownership of issues and collaborate with the engineering team to resolve complex technical problems.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Professional Experience:
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer.
- Proven experience in managing cloud infrastructure and deploying scalable applications.
- Strong knowledge of working with local cloud providers in Pakistan (e.g., PTCL, Multi-Net).
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly using Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Proficiency in OpenStack technologies and cloud service management.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation practices for infrastructure management.
- Strong understanding of technical best practices for optimizing application performance, speed, and scalability.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GitHub Actions for workflow automation.
- Knowledge of scaling databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Expertise in performance testing, load optimization, and observability tools.
- Previous experience in product-based environments.
- Experience in working with Offline-First applications and data replication strategies.
