We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Account Executive to join our SMB (Small and Medium Business) team in New Zealand. In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth by representing Deel’s products to prospective clients and managing existing customer relationships. As a member of our high-performing sales team, you will have the opportunity to build a thriving client base and help businesses hire, onboard, and manage remote teams worldwide with our market-leading solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Development: Represent and effectively communicate the value of Deel’s solutions to potential and existing customers within the SMB segment.
- Pipeline Building & Maintenance: Research, qualify, and develop a strong sales pipeline, collaborating closely with the Sales Development Representative (SDR) team.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with existing customers, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and upselling Deel’s products and services.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Success, and Senior Leadership to support sales goals and client requirements.
- CRM Management: Ensure that CRM systems are meticulously maintained, with up-to-date customer data and sales activity.
- Event Participation: Attend industry events in person, building relationships within the HR Tech/FinTech and payroll ecosystem.
- Client Communication: Convey complex concepts related to payroll and compliance in a simple and engaging way, adapting your approach based on the client’s needs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years as an Account Executive, managing SME accounts in a B2B environment.
- Sales Expertise: Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented sales environment, with a focus on exceeding targets and quotas.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage clients effectively and gain buy-in.
- Industry Knowledge: Ideally, experience in HR/Fintech, Payroll, or Recruitment/HR is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical abilities and a quick thinker capable of navigating complex payroll and compliance topics.
- Autonomy & Drive: A self-starter who is highly motivated and experienced working remotely with a flexible schedule.
- Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools to track and optimize sales activities.
