Responsibilities
As a Senior WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for:
- Custom Theme & Plugin Development: Design and develop custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific client requirements.
- Frontend Development: Build responsive websites using front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure all WordPress sites are optimized for performance, SEO, and security.
- Collaboration with Team Members: Work alongside designers and back-end developers to implement and maintain site features and functionality.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress websites, themes, and plugins.
- Testing & Debugging: Test and debug websites across multiple browsers and devices to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintenance & Updates: Provide ongoing maintenance and updates to existing websites.
- Stay Current: Keep up with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement in WordPress development.
- Documentation: Write clean, well-documented code for seamless collaboration and future website updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a WordPress Developer, with a portfolio of WordPress websites.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery).
- Extensive experience with WordPress CMS, custom theme development, and plugin integration.
- Familiarity with page builders like Elementor and WPBakery, as well as WordPress frameworks.
- Understanding of SEO best practices and website security measures.
- Expertise in building responsive designs and utilizing mobile-first development.
- Experience in using version control tools like Git for collaborative development.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to debug complex WordPress issues.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Portfolio: Must be able to provide links to previous WordPress projects you’ve worked on.
Preferred Skills (Optional):
- Experience with WooCommerce to develop e-commerce sites.
- Familiarity with REST APIs for integrating third-party services into WordPress.
- Knowledge of hosting environments like cPanel, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with website analytics tools, such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
- Understanding of UI/UX principles and how they relate to website development.
