As an Assistant Project Manager, you will work closely with the senior project manager and engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution, monitoring, and completion within defined timelines and quality standards. The role requires a strong understanding of construction processes and excellent project coordination skills.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Project Coordination: Assist in planning, executing, and finalizing construction projects according to deadlines and budgets, under the supervision of the senior project manager.
- Site Management: Help manage on-site activities, ensuring that the project is moving forward as planned. Oversee the day-to-day operations on construction sites.
- Team Management: Support project teams, including engineers, laborers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and smooth collaboration.
- Budget and Cost Control: Help monitor expenses and costs for the project, ensuring they remain within budget and help identify opportunities for cost-saving measures.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including reports on project status, timelines, and expenditures. Regularly update senior management and other stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in ensuring that all construction processes follow the prescribed quality standards, codes, and regulations.
- Safety Oversight: Ensure safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed on site, helping to mitigate any risk factors.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Assistant Project Manager role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Building and Architectural Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the construction industry or completion of an internship or similar field experience. A background in project management is an added advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in construction project management software or MS Office tools
