Jhpiego is looking for a Program Officer (PO) to join our team based in Districts Gurdaspur, Punjab. This position will support the Born Healthy program, which focuses on strengthening Antenatal Care (ANC) to provide high-quality, evidence-based healthcare to women. As a Program Officer, you will work closely with local health providers, facilities, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of health services and activities at the district level.

Key Responsibilities
As a Program Officer at Jhpiego, your role will involve the following key tasks:
- Program Implementation and Support:
- Work closely with the State Program Officer (SPO) to support the successful rollout of ANC interventions at the district level.
- Assist the Senior Program Officer in achieving project deliverables and timelines according to quality specifications.
- Provide technical and programmatic support to district-level stakeholders to enhance ANC services.
- Coordinate with the team to address issues and provide troubleshooting support at the district and facility levels.
- Technology and Data Management:
- Support the testing, implementation, and documentation of technology used in healthcare delivery.
- Monitor and assess the use of technology platforms within healthcare infrastructure at the state level.
- Collect and organize program data in a timely manner to ensure smooth implementation.
- Training and Capacity Building:
- Organize and conduct both virtual and in-person training sessions, workshops, and on-site coaching for district health teams.
- Assist in planning training schedules, selecting trainers, and monitoring training progress.
- Follow up with participants post-training to assess the effectiveness of the sessions.
- Program Coordination:
- Provide logistical support for program activities, including workshop planning, travel arrangements, and resource management.
- Ensure that all program activities run smoothly and align with project goals and timelines.
- Assist the supervisor in developing technical content for the program and travel to districts when required to support implementation and monitoring.
Qualifications
The Program Officer position at Jhpiego requires the following qualifications:
- Education:
- A graduate degree in Medical, Nursing, AYUSH, or a Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Public Health or Health Management is preferred.
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience working on public health programs, especially in Reproductive and Child Health.
- Experience managing program implementation and working with large-scale health programs focused on quality of care, antenatal care, or maternal and newborn health is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders, and government policies such as the National Rural Health Mission will be an advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
- Ability to plan, implement, and monitor health programs effectively.
- Proficient in using technology and data platforms for healthcare delivery.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely execution of projects.
