Braintrust is seeking an experienced Part-time Android Engineer to help build fast, scalable, and user-focused app features for TalkHealthEdge. This role is ideal for a professional with strong Android development expertise, particularly in Java and Kotlin, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences. As a key player in our engineering team, you will contribute to the development of impactful mobile applications used by millions worldwide. This is a remote, part-time contract position with a potential for extension or transition to a full-time opportunity.
Contract Details:
- Contract Length: 6 months (W2/EOR), with potential for extension or long-term employment.
- Location: Remote (Open to candidates worldwide).
- Start Date: Immediate.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Implementation: Build robust, scalable Android features that enhance user experiences on a global scale.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and experiment with new product features.
- Leadership: Mentor junior engineers by setting high technical standards, conducting code reviews, and promoting best practices.
- Performance Optimization: Contribute to technical architecture design, debug complex issues, and optimize app performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze metrics, experiment with features, and iterate to improve user engagement and retention.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in Android development, with strong expertise in Kotlin and Java.
- Track Record: Proven experience building and shipping large-scale, complex Android applications.
- Software Engineering: Strong understanding of software engineering principles, performance optimization, and developing responsive apps in resource-constrained environments.
- Android Frameworks: Familiarity with frameworks like ViewModels, LiveData, and Jetpack Compose.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, distributed team environment.
- Performance & Growth: Experience with app performance optimization, A/B testing, and driving growth-focused features.
Preferred Skills
- Backend Knowledge: Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, and caching strategies.
- Development Tools: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Reactive Programming, or app internationalization.
