Darkthorn Labs is looking for a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our team. This remote position will involve both manual and automated testing across various platforms, including web, mobile, and backend systems. As a QA Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products, with a strong focus on collaboration with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities:

Test Plan Development: Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both manual and automation testing.
Manual Testing: Perform comprehensive manual testing for web, mobile, and backend systems, ensuring that the software meets high-quality standards and end-user expectations.
Automated Testing: Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for selected features, reducing manual effort and increasing testing efficiency.
Bug Tracking and Documentation: Identify, document, and track software defects, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement. Provide detailed bug reports for the development team.
Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with developers, designers, and project managers to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
Regression and Integration Testing: Conduct regression, integration, and system testing to ensure the consistency and stability of functionalities across different projects.
API Testing: Test APIs, verify data integrity, and document findings using tools such as Postman.
Quality Insights: Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve product quality and team processes, aiming for continual improvement in testing practices.
Testing Documentation: Ensure all testing results, processes, and bug reports are well-documented for transparency and future reference.
Industry Awareness: Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in manual and automated testing.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on manual testing and exposure to automation testing.
- Hands-on experience in testing web applications, mobile applications, and APIs.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
- Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation and testing.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Strong communication skills to effectively report and discuss test results with the development team.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
Knowledge of performance and load testing tools.
Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Java for automation purposes.
Exposure to mobile automation tools like Appium.
Knowledge of accessibility testing tools and standards.

Probation Period:

The selected candidate will undergo a 1-month probationary period, during which performance and fit within the company culture will be assessed. Successful completion of this probation period will result in a permanent position with Darkthorn Labs.
