We are looking for a Quality Control Officer to ensure that the inspection plan is up-to-date for all business units (DECO, MPY, VR, and ICO), to support our annual volume of 25 million liters and more than 9,000 batches. You will be responsible for maintaining the quality of finished products and packaging, performing advanced testing, and conducting hygiene and retained sample protocol. The role also requires supervision of quality technicians to ensure the seamless execution of operations in the quality control department.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection & Quality Standards:
- Ensure that the inspection plans are updated for over 450 materials and 700 SKUs across all units (DECO, MPY, VR, and ICO).
- Implement and enforce ISO 9001:2008 and PSQCA license requirements across the site.
- Approve or reject finished goods and packaging materials based on agreed specifications and COA (Certificate of Analysis).
- Leadership & Supervision:
- Supervise quality technicians during shifts, ensuring product quality is consistently delivered.
- Introduce advanced testing methods to enhance consistency and control over product quality.
- Maintain effective communication with technicians, guide them in quality processes, and ensure productivity standards are met.
- Production Support & Problem Solving:
- Work closely with R&D and production teams to resolve issues related to “out of spec” batches.
- Regularly assess processes, and perform gap analyses to identify quality improvements.
- Coordinate product and process specifications with the quality manager to ensure no discrepancies that could lead to customer complaints.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain retained samples of finished goods in compliance with guidelines.
- Collect and provide KPI data for integration into monthly reports and integrated quality reviews (IQRs).
- Ensure all required quality control documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Adhere to all QHSE&S (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability) regulations, including safe housekeeping practices.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture within the quality control lab, leading T1 meetings and attending T2 meetings daily.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field from a reputable university.
- Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the chemical industry, ideally within the Quality department.
- Strong familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of HSE procedures in the chemical industry and lean manufacturing principles.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic understanding of measurement system analysis (MSA) and experience with gap analyses.
