Key Responsibilities

As a Web Scraper at micro1, you will:

Web Scraping Development:
- Design and implement web scraping solutions to extract large volumes of data from LinkedIn and other relevant websites.
- Use efficient and automated techniques to ensure optimal scraping speed and accuracy.
Data Organization & Cleaning:
- Organize, clean, and structure scraped data into accessible formats such as CSV, Excel, or databases for easy use and further analysis.
- Ensure the completeness and consistency of collected data.
Compliance & Ethical Guidelines:
- Ensure that web scraping processes comply with website terms of service and ethical guidelines.
- Avoid issues like rate-limiting or IP bans, ensuring responsible web scraping practices.
Continuous Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Continuously monitor scraping scripts and their performance.
- Troubleshoot issues related to data accuracy, scraping speed, and ensure reliability.
- Adapt scraping methods when websites undergo structural changes or updates.
Efficiency & Automation:
- Automate data extraction and minimize manual intervention in the scraping process.
- Use libraries and tools like BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, and others to improve scraping processes.

Key Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

Experience: Proven experience in web scraping and data extraction.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, with experience using libraries such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Selenium.
Data Handling: Solid knowledge of data formats such as CSV, Excel, JSON, and SQL, along with techniques for cleaning and structuring data.
Ethical Practices: Familiarity with ethical scraping practices, awareness of website terms of service, and understanding of strategies to avoid rate-limiting and bans.
Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues related to scraping speed, data accuracy, and avoid technical blockers (e.g., CAPTCHA challenges).
APIs (Optional): Experience with APIs and knowledge of data privacy regulations is a plus.

Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail in data collection and analysis.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with other team members.
