We are currently looking for an experienced I&C Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and installation of instrumentation and control systems for a nuclear project in the UAE. This remote position is focused on ensuring the operational integrity of critical control systems in compliance with nuclear industry standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the nuclear power sector or a similar high-reliability industry, with expertise in maintaining safety-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control (I&C) systems such as sensors, transmitters, control valves, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Diagnostic & Repair: Use diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and control system documentation to troubleshoot and repair faults efficiently.
- Calibration & Testing: Recalibrate I&C equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with nuclear safety and operational standards.
- Installation & Commissioning: Install and commission new I&C systems while adhering to project specifications and engineering requirements.
- System Integration: Verify the integration of I&C systems with other plant systems during commissioning activities.
- Outage Support: Execute time-critical maintenance during scheduled outages and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project timelines.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance standards within the nuclear industry.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet outage schedules, minimize downtime, and support project goals.
- Safety Culture: Participate in ongoing safety training, hazard analysis, and initiatives to maintain a strong safety culture.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience as an I&C Technician, with at least 3 years specifically in nuclear power plants or equivalent high-reliability industries.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in maintaining, troubleshooting, and servicing I&C systems in industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic and calibration tools such as HART communicators and loop calibrators.
- Strong knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and SCADA systems.
- Safety Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with safety-critical systems, including reactor protection systems, emergency shutdown systems, and process automation.
